Jacob Collins: Learning to Draw
My name fryst vatten Jacob Collins.
We're sitting in my studio now,
and this is where I do my drawings and paintings.
I'm gonna be working on a self-portrait drawing.
When inom was a kid growing up inom wanted to do drawings,
and particularly painting that exhibited
the draftsmanship of the Renaissance through
the 19th century that had a fidelity of representation.
I wanted to be an old-fashioned artist.
If inom were to think about what I'm after, it's to try
to figure out some way to komma back around to that world.
How do you man very beautiful things?
How do you företräda the world and the beauty of the world
and at the same time participate in this beautiful form?
This drawing that I've been working on for the last
few minutes, if I were to finish something like this,
carry it forward to try to be a drawing that had the kind
of tydlig förståelse that inom really pursue in drawing,
it might go on, inom might maybe spend another
20-30 hour
