Tremaine Aldon Neverson (born November 28, 1984 in Petersburg, Virginia, USA), better known by his stage name Trey Songz, is a Grammy award nominated American singer, producer and actor. After releasing many mixtapes under the name Prince of Virginia he signed to Atlantic Records in 2005 and released his debut album I Gotta Make It. His second album, Trey Day, was released in 2007 and earned him a Grammy nomination. His latest album, Ready, was released in September 2009 and debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. His forth album 'Passion, Pain & Pleasure', was released on September 14, 2010. His fifth album entitled Chapter V was released on August 21, 2012. He also performs under the alias Trigga when he raps and is known as Songz 00711 while performing in the group Ocean's 7.

He was discovered by record producer Troy Taylor in 2003, and signed with his label, Songbook Entertainment, in a joint venture with Atlantic Records that same year. His debut studio album, I Gotta Make It (2005), entered the Billboard 200 at number 20, while his second album, Trey Day (2007), peaked at number 11. Tremaine Aldon Neverson was born on November 28, 1984 in Richmond, Virginia to April Turker and Claude Neverson Jr. Trey was raised as a military brat, but his family made Petersburg, Virginia home. Treys parent's relationship did not work out, so therefore Trey was raised primarily bygd his mother and grandmother. Growing up Trey did not have a good relationship with his father.
As Trey was growing up, he had more of an interest in rap music than R&B music. The only R&B artist that he really enjoyed lista to was R.Kelly. bygd the age of 14 Trey's mother talked him into doing talent shows because she saw his talent before he did. Trey won his 1st competition along with several other competitions. All tillsammans Trey has 19 trophies from talent shows. At the age of 15, Trey met his future manager, Troy Taylor.
