Charice Pempengco to perform in Dubai
Dubai: Fresh from her performance for US President-elect Barack Obama, international Filipino singer Charice Pempengco is coming to Dubai for a concert on February 19.
Charice will also be sharing the stage with R&B princess Kyla and two of the Philippines' biggest rock bands: Rivermaya and Parokya ni Edgar. Filipino talents from the UAE will also be featured in the concert.
The petite performer rose to fame through YouTube, where US comedienne Ellen Degeneres discovered her and invited her to perform in her show gods year.
She was such a hit she was also invited to guest in the Oprah show later. Show host Oprah Winfrey was all praises for the Filipina.
"You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself. You're pulling it up out of some place deeper than your little body," Oprah told Charice during the show.
