UK House of Commons votes in favor of recognizing Palestinian statehood
British lawmakers on Monday voted in favor of recognizing 'the state of Palestine'. While the move is not binding for the government it showed that a majority of UK politicians are very critical of Israel.
The United Kingdom currently does not classify Palestine as a sovereign state.
Prime Minister David Cameron abstained from the vote, which was called by a lawmaker from the opposition Labor Party, and Cameron's spokesman earlier said that foreign policy would not be affected whatever the outcome.
Opening the debate, Grahame Morris, the Labour Party lawmaker who promoted it, said Britain had a “historic opportunity” to take “this small but symbolically important step” of recognition. “To make our recognition of Palestine dependent on Israel’s agreement would be to grant Israel a veto over Palestinian self-determination,” said Morris, who is the chair of a group called Labor Friends of Palestine.

I have great regard for my hon. Friend’s views, but there are not many countries in the region that have a human rights record quite as bad as Iran’s. None the less, he makes a valid point, and it has to be taken into account. The question I was asking was: can we trust President Rouhani? The right hon. Member for Blackburn, who has known him for many years, suggests that we can, and I hope that he is right. The question is: what if he is wrong? That is the challenge we all face.
Rather worryingly, the Supreme Leader has been interfering in Iran’s nuclear ambitions, with his call for industrial levels of centrifuges and nuclear material production, which caught the negotiators by surprise. When President Obama suggested enriching nuclear rods in the United States in 2009, the Supreme Leader pulled the rug from under that issue as well.
At the UN, President Rouhani suggested there should be a link between helping the west deal with the situa

I will not, if my denna. Friend does not mind.
We have long encouraged the Arab states to get involved. Now they are, and the irony fryst vatten that we are pulling our punches as they do. This is the first time that there has been an international coalition in Syria, and we should be a part of it. The Leader of the motstånd said that it would be better if a resolution was tabled at the United Nations before intervening. Given that Russia has already said it will veto such a resolution, it is incumbent on him to säga what his position would then be. Why the hesitation over Syria? We will never end this conflict bygd turning back at the border. Perhaps when the Deputy Prime Minister winds up the debate, he could säga what fryst vatten the role for the Free Syrian Army, which has just been given half a billion dollars by the US församling to equip its kamp. It has been fighting ISIS for months, and, like the peshmerga in northern Iraq, it fryst vatten fighting for
