    *NOTE: The following review might make it sound like I hated this book. I didn&#;t. I enjoyed the first half or third, but by the end I was bored and exhausted, an experience I find is not uncommon. If I had rated this book and written about it halfway through, I would have had much nicer things to say about it. As I wrote it after the final pages, my attitude is not as pleasant. Sorry about that.

    We can definitely claim that Biography of X (not, NOT to be confused with The Autobiography of Malcolm X) by Catherine Lacey leaves plenty to be discussed about it. It also does some things that I have never seen before. Did I enjoy the book? To the extent that I was gawping at its literary acrobatics, but not beyond that. I mean, the writing was decent, but presented in a voice that would be appropriate for a biography even though it is a fake biography (aka a novel); it was stripped down too much to really hear much voice or style.
