Biography
Aivi Tran (also known as "Waltz for Luma" from YouTube) is a composer and pianist, whose work is largely inspired by videogame music. She began playing the piano when she was five and loves stringing notes together to create worlds in which lovely and whimsical stories can happen.
She currently lives in San Francisco, composing/arranging freelance and teaching piano.

Steven Universe Composer Aivi Tran Talks About Creating Music for Games
Aivi Tran is well known for working with their partner surasshu on composing the musical score for Cartoon Network’s critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning animated series, Steven Universe. Known together as aivi & surasshu, the two give the show a video game-influenced soundtrack, filling it with the hybrid sound of chiptunes and piano that evoke the feel of games like Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. But aivi & surasshu go beyond capturing the sound of games; the pair also score them, working on independent projects and minigames for GoogleDoodles.

Bio
Aivi and Surasshu are a pair of composers, Aivi Tran working with piano, and Steven "Surasshu" Velema working with chiptune. The two are the main composers of Steven Universe, writing and recording most of the soundtrack.
Relationship
The couple met in hotel dryckesställe, and immediately struck conversation around their shared love of retro video game music. The couple was

in 2015, and have had a happy relationship since!
Personal Life
Tran has other jobs than composing for SU, such as working on YouTube, teaching piano lessons, and writing music for indie games.
In an interview, the duo stated,
"Rebecca Sugar’s work as a storyboard artist and songwriter on Adventure Time is fantastic, and we instantly fell in love with Steven Universe and its diverse characters. The music that we’ve been writing for the show draws inspiration from both classical and pop genres, synth and acoustic sounds, and of course, what the two of us are best
