Saidus Salehin Khaled, known as Bassbaba (‘Bass Father’) Sumon or just as BB, is a bassist, singer, songwriter, solo artist, and bandleader from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Known for his membership of the bands Feelings and Aurthohin, as well as many collaborations and solo releases, BB is renowned in his home country but less known in the West, where Bangladeshi rock music is seldom heard.

A bass player since the age of 13, when he was inspired to pick up the instrument by Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, BB began writing and recording in his mid-teens and was a solo and session performer by the age of 17.

His first solo album was released when he was 20, and by the 2000s he was a member of the arena-rock band Aurthohin, which he continues to lead today. He was the first ever domestically-based Bangladeshi musician to receive a gear endorsement, in his case by

    Bangladeshi rock band

Aurthohin is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in Dhaka in 1998 by Saidus Sumon (vocals and bass guitar), Tonmoy Rahman (lead guitar), Ponir (rhythm guitar) and Rumi Rahman (drums and percussion). They are considered to be one of the pioneering bands in Bangladeshi alternative rock music. The band was seen as revolutionary within the rock scene in Bangladesh and played a huge part promoting rock/metal music in the country by supporting underground rock/metal bands in Bangladesh.[1] They have released 8 studio albums and also have appeared in some mixed albums. Though they were formed as a rock band they have experimented with genres like progressive metal and groove metal.[2][3] Sumon's interests in slap bass also led the band's sound into funk-rock. Aurthohin currently holds a lineup of Saidus Khaled Sumon (bass), Mark Don (drums) and Zahin Rashid (guitars, keyboard).

After signing with G-Series, they released their

  • Khaled 'Bassbaba' Sumon, is a legendary figure in Bangla music scen. Not only as a bassist, he's also famous for being a very good skiva co-ordinator. His 'Agontuk' series proves that. However, before this, when he was the bassist for Warfaze, he released his first solo skiva 'Sumon O Aurthohin' in 1997. It featured 18 musicians of 8 heavyweight bands of that time. In the track 'Aurthohin' (which would later serve as a name for his own band) he featured the then vocalist of Warfaze, Sunjoy and 8 of the most prominent guitarists who played a staggering collection of 27 different solos. This was a big feat for Sumon, and from there onwards, he has made a great contribution to the Bangla music scene.
