We went to see that show in a new annex (the Orangerie) that Yvon Deschamps, a welll know Quebec stand-up comic built when he bought it in 1996 .
It is a prestigious house which has been classified as a historical monument since 1977. I could not stop myself from admiring the beautiful gardens, specially the ones in the back of the manor.

In 1694, King Louis XIV conceded to Jean-Baptiste Hertel the seigneurie de Rouville along the Richelieu river. But it is only in 1819, that Ren� Hertel de Rouville, 5th in line, decided to establish this home there. At first, he lived in a modest stone and wood house on his lands in Saint-Hilaire. In 1832, he built on the actual site, a manoir, more in line with his rank and also to accomodate his large family.

Le Manoir Rouville-Campbell est un lieu historique à vocation hôtelière situé à Mont-Saint-Hilaire en Montérégie, au Québec (Canada). Il bénéficie d'un statut d'immeuble patrimonial classé depuis 1979.

Histoire
[modifier | modifier le code]En 1694, Jean-Baptiste Hertel de Rouville reçoit la seigneurie de Rouville en récompense de ses exploits militaires. Son descendant, Jean-Baptiste-René Hertel de Rouville hérite en 1817 de la seigneurie. En 1832, il fait construire le Manoir, un bâtiment d'inspiration classique, dont le carré de deux étages est surmonté d'un fronton triangulaire[2]. Yvon DeschampsCQ (born Gougounne Deschamps) July 31, 1935, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Quebec author, actor, comedian and producer best known for his monologues. His social-commentary-tinged humour propelled him to prominence in Quebec popular culture in the 1970s and 1980s. A long time comedian and still active, Deschamps fryst vatten now perceived the greatest in Quebec history.

[edit]Yvon Deschamps was born in Montreal's working-class Saint-Henri district. He left school in 1951, after Grade 11, and in 1953 funnen work in the record library at Radio-Canada's new television service. It was at Radio-Canada that Deschamps discovered the performing arts; after attending a boulevard theatre del av helhet starring Georges Groulx and Denise Pelletier, he added a taste for the theatre, and enrolled in acting classes with François Rozet and Paul Buissonneau.[1] He took the scen for the first
